More US sanctions on Iran and reactions
The US government has imposed new sanctions on an Iranian organization and nine individuals as part of its anti-Iran policy. Washington says, "The sanctions were imposed on Iran's top leader Ayatollah Ujma Khamenei to be appointed or to act on his behalf."
On Monday, the US Department of State's Foreign Asset Control Department issued a press release and issued the ban. The sanctions were imposed on the 40th anniversary of the capture of the former US embassy in Iran known as the Ace of Spies.
The sanctions were imposed on Iran's army chief, Major General Mohammad Bakeri, and Ibrahim Raisi, the head of the judiciary, appointed by Iran's top leader.
The United States also imposed sanctions on former Defense Minister and commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Force Brigadier General Hossein Dehkan and Major General Golam Ali Rashid, head of the IRGC's Khatamul Ambiya headquarters. In addition, some officials of his office, including the chief of staff of Ayatollah Ujma Khamenei, have been subjected to the ban.
The imposition of the ban would result in the forfeiture of any property belonging to the victims of the ban if they were in the United States. Also, no American company can deal with these people. The funny thing is, these people have no assets in America.
US Finance Minister Steven Manuchin has accused the sanctions of "grossly harmful behavior." The United States considers any act contrary to US imperialist behavior worldwide as 'grossly harmful'. The Iranian Foreign Ministry has rejected a new US ban.
Mahathir Muhammad said this during a press conference during the ASEAN summit in Thailand. He said that if one country is dissatisfied with another country, it cannot impose sanctions on that country; Such an arrangement is nowhere in the UN Charter. He strongly criticized Washington for the problems facing Malaysia's trade with Iran due to US sanctions.
He said the ban on any such country was unlawful. Mahathir Muhammad says the impact of the ban is not limited to just one country; In that sense, Malaysia is also under sanctions.
