Police-guerrilla clashes in Jammu and Kashmir, killing four
A head constable was killed and two other jawans were injured in a guerrilla attack on the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. One civilian was also seriously injured in the shooting. The slain head constable was a jawan of the 179th Battalion.
According to Indian media, the casualties occurred when the guerrillas suddenly attacked the CRPF patrol.
According to the website of 'Aajtak' Hindi TV channel, a CRPF search team was shot dead in Model Town, Sopore this (Wednesday) morning. Three soldiers and a civilian were killed in the indiscriminate firing by the terrorists. One head constable died during the treatment when the four were rushed to hospital.
CRPF IG Rajesh Yadav said, "We lost Head Constable Deepchand in the terrorist attack." A young man is fighting for his life. A third soldier was not shot, but he was wounded during the operation. Both the jawans are undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, after the incident, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Army have cordoned off the area and are conducting a joint search operation and searching for the attacking guerrillas.
Security forces in the valley have launched an operation to eliminate the guerrillas. The operation killed 48 guerrillas in June.
On the other hand, there have been clashes between security forces and guerrillas in Tralee in the guerrilla attack on the CRPF team today. The security forces received information that two / three guerrillas were hiding in the trawl of Pulwama district. After that a search operation was carried out in the area. When the guerrillas started firing at the security forces, the security forces responded by firing back.
