The Hindu festival Ramnabami was celebrated all over India last week. This Ramnabami procession created a situation of communal riots in the country.
According to a press release issued by Jamiat Ulamaye Hind Secretary Niaz Ahmad Farooqui on social media, the national president of Jamiat Maulana Mahmud Asad Madani on the occasion of Ram Navami, communal violence in different states of the country especially in Khargone in Madhya Pradesh and later on demolition of houses and shops. Maulana Mahmud Asad Madani has expressed strong objections and concerns.
Maulana Madani has expressed concern over the fact that the rioters in the country have made it a habit to raise slogans based on hatred in Muslim areas, to do highly provocative acts there and to desecrate mosques and places of worship. They do not have any obstacle or difficulty from the law enforcement agencies in this regard. Maulana Madani has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard drawing attention to stop such uncontrollable situation and prevent the country from continuing on the path of continuous anarchy.
Maulana Madani, referring to the Khargone incident in Madhya Pradesh in particular, wrote that there has been a lot of damage to the minority community here. Many houses and places of worship were set on fire and looted by anti-social elements. It is very unfortunate that after the outbreak of violence, the local administration is now on the verge of harassing the minority community. Muslim property and their homes are being identified and demolished.
Homes and shops of Muslims are being destroyed in Khargone
Maulana Madani raised the question, under which law is it being done? Under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, every accused has the right to a fair trial, bail, the services of a criminal lawyer, and free legal aid. Not only that, it is a general legal principle adopted by the courts of India that the accused will be presumed innocent until proven guilty. But now the Madhya Pradesh government is doing 'fascist work' by demolishing houses and violating the Constitution of India and is shamelessly defending it.
Maulana Madani complained to the Home Minister that according to the report received from the local unit of Jamiat Ulema, the local police force was creating an atmosphere of fear among the minority community. Seeing all this, there is a feeling of deep injustice among the minority communities in all parts of the country.
Maulana Madani demanded from the Home Minister that a 'High Level Judicial Investigation Committee' be formed to find out the truth about Khargone's violence. In addition, those who incited violence during the procession should be brought to justice and the cause of the whole incident should be brought to justice. Destruction of property must be stopped immediately, taking into account the discriminatory attitude of law enforcement agencies.
