Muslims have requested not to build a temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, where a graveyard is located in a part of where preparations are underway for the construction of the Ram temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the Ramjanbhumi Pilgrimage Trust for the construction of the temple in Parliament. Muslims have objected to the letter for that trust.
Local minority Muslim families in Oudhia claim that in 1855 the Babri Masjid was a Muslim burial ground. That is why the Ram temple should be built on top of the cemetery? This question has been asked in that letter.
The Muslims said that there were 4-5 acres of land in the area which was a Muslim cemetery. And the letter was requested to prevent the Ram temple from being built there.
Nine people, including Haji Muhammad, a resident of Ayodhya, wrote to the committee constituted for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, stating that 67 acres of land was taken by the central government under the Ayodhya Act and this time it has been given to the trust. Of these, there is a graveyard on 4-5 acres of land. Their request to the trust members is, do you consider what a temple can be built in a cemetery?
The letter to the Muslims states that although the cemetery is not visible today, it is a cemetery. From 1949 to 1992, the place was used differently.
MR Shamshad, a lawyer for the locals, claimed that in the riot of 1855, 75 Muslims were killed in the area. And the burial of those Muslims was completed on that 4-5 acres of land. Lawyer MR Shamshad argued in favor of the cemetery around Babri Masjid.
On December 6, 1992, a group of mad people called 'Karsabak' demolished the historic Babri Masjid in Oudh, Uttar Pradesh, India. They claim that it is actually the birthplace of Lord Rama. Shortly after a long litigation, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the construction of the Ram Temple at that place. The court ordered the government to form a trust. On the other hand, the government is asked to arrange alternative five acres of land for the mosque.
