Protest against Muslim persecution in India
101 former bureaucrats have expressed their grief over the issue of Muslim persecution in different states of India with letters to the Chief Ministers of different states. They termed the recent program of Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi organized by Tabligh Jamaat as misleading and reprehensible. At the same time, he termed the act of spreading slander against Muslims by some sections of the media as 'absolutely irresponsible and reprehensible'.
Former bureaucrats wrote in an open letter that rumors were circulating in many places that Muslims were fleeing hospitals and health centers. This is very sad. There have been reports from many quarters that Muslim families are being deprived of special relief facilities provided by the government in response to the Corona crisis.
The former bureaucrats said, "Instruct all administrations to stop social boycott of any community in the state." It should also ensure that all the needy get equal medical and hospital facilities, rations and financial assistance.
The former bureaucrat said, "It is with great sadness that we draw attention to the news of the persecution of Muslims in some parts of the country, especially after the Tabligh Jamaat held a meeting at Nizamuddin in Delhi in March."
Former bureaucrats who have given open letters include former cabinet secretary KM Chandrasekhar, former IPS S Dulat and Julio Riborio, former chief information commissioner Wajahat Habibullah, former Delhi lieutenant governor Najib Jung and former chief election commissioner of India SY Qureshi.
According to media reports, it has had a detrimental effect on various parts of the country since the recent hateful rumors of the spread of corona from the Tabligh Jamaat program in Delhi's Nizamuddin through social media.
