Indo-China tensions
Meeting of both commanders after bloody clashes on the border
The military commanders of India and China have met at a time when tensions are running high following bloody clashes on the border. The news agency Reuters quoted Iran's English-language television channel Prestiv as saying. The second round of meetings was held between the two sides.
Commanders from both sides inside China met today (Monday) at the Line of Actual Control of the disputed Aksai Sino-Ladakh border, the report said. Earlier on Thursday, lower-level army officials from both sides met.
A clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley last Monday killed 20 Indian soldiers, including several top officials. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. The two countries have blamed each other for the clashes. This is the bloodiest clash on the India-China border since 1967.
At the same time, India's dissatisfaction with China's closeness to Bangladesh has been expressed by India's widely circulated English daily The Times of India and Bengali daily Anandabazar.
It may be mentioned that two warships made in China for the Bangladesh Navy "Sangram" and "Pratasha" arrived at the Chittagong Naval Jetty in April last year. After more than a year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday (June 18) inaugurated the commissioning ceremony of Banauja Sangram at the Naval Jetty in Chittagong via video conference from Ganobhaban.
