North Korea threatens US with nuclear war
North Korea has warned the United States against any military action on the Korean Peninsula.
The North Korean embassy in the Russian capital, Moscow, issued the statement in a statement, according to the Iranian news agency Fars.
North Korea has nuclear weapons as well as intercontinental ballistic missiles that can strike anywhere in the United States.
The North Korean embassy in Moscow said the country had nuclear missiles that could punish anyone at any time. "Anyone who threatens North Korea will be shot down and destroyed," the statement said.
North Korea is strongly opposed to the US military presence on the Korean Peninsula and the joint US military exercise with South Korea. Pyongyang sees any exercise between the United States and South Korea as a preparation for an attack on North Korea.
