রেশমিন খাতুন আমার পরিবার থেকে ঠিক হলো এবার সিকিমের রাজধানী গ্যাংটক ঘুরতে যাবো। সেটা জানার পর থেকে মনে ভীষণ আনদ হচ্ছিল। বোলপুর থেকে সকাল নটার ট্রেন, নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি যখন পৌছালাম তখন সন্ধ্যা সাতটা। ভাই আগে থেকেই থাকার সব ব্যবস্থা করে রেখেছিল। নেমে ফোন করতেই তারা পৌঁছে গেল আমাদের কে নিয়ে যেতে।  পেডং-য়ে পৌঁছে 'নীল পাহাড়ি' হোম-স্টে তে আমাদের থাকার ব্যবস্থা ছিল। আমার যখন সেখানে পৌঁছালাম তখন রাত্তির এগারোটা প্রায়।  ওরা আমাদের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছিল। আমাদের সারাদিনের ক্লান্তি ওদের অয়ামিক ব্যবহারে অনেকটাই উধাও হয়ে গেল। রাত্তিরের খাবার ওরা আমাদের রুমে সাজিয়ে দিয়ে সেদিনের মত বিদায় জানালো। আমরাও তড়িঘড়ি খাওয়া দাওয়া করে ক্লান্ত শরীরে বিছানায় পড়তেই গভীর ঘুমে তলিয়ে গেলাম। সকালে মেজবুবুর ডাকে ঘুম ভাঙল। রাত্তিরে যখন এসেছি আশে পাশের কিছু সেভাবে লক্ষ্য করতে পারিনি। এখন ঘরের জানালাটা খুলতেই সকালের আলোয় সব চোখের সামনে উপস্থিত। সামনেই পাহাড় আর সারি সারি পাইনের জঙ্গল। শুধুই মোহাবিষ্ট হয়ে তাকিয়ে থাকতে হয় এমন অপরূপ প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য। ছাদে পা রাখতেই হিমেল হাওয়ার শীতল পরশ তাদের নতুন অতিথিদের যেন আলিঙ্গন...
