Delhi riots:
The death toll has risen to 37 in fierce violence amid controversy over the revised citizenship issue in the Indian capital, Delhi. Amidst the horrific violence, miscreants raided a large mosque in Ashoknagar, Delhi, and hung the flag of the mosque in the mosque.
When the miscreants set the fire on fire, the objects inside the mosque were burnt to ashes. The attackers also set fire to some nearby houses and shops, causing extensive damage.
About this (Thursday), the general secretary of West Bengal, Mufti Abdus Salam, told the media: “We demand that the Home Ministry be active. In order to secure the mosque there, the mosque must be completely repaired and the Muslims should be able to safely create a place of prayer. There can be no disagreement with it. The mosque is the house of Allah. There will be worship of Allah here. Let the public daylight be punished by those who have caused that event so that it becomes an example for the whole of India and the world. '
According to a video circulated in the media, several youths climbed the public daylight in the mosque's high tower and lowered the mic. One of them hangs the 'cowboy' flag there. Another hung a national flag there. Black smoke continues to fly.
Last Tuesday, the attack was publicly publicized by many. But yesterday on Wednesday, journalists went to the number five lane in Ashok Nagar, northeast Delhi, with a flag flying at the head of a large mosque. It is written, 'Jai Sriram'! The smoke that appeared in the video clip was reported to be coming out of the mosque. The miscreants opened fire at local mosques and looted some shops and at least three houses in the mosque.
BBC Hindi journalist sees half-finished carpets and hats scattered inside the mosque. The place where the Imam stands is also blackened.
A local resident named Riaz Siddiqui said, "What are these people earning? One person, Khurshid Alam, said, "What will we do now?" We have nothing left. Local Muslims said the robberies and attacks were carried out at the homes of Muslims.
Local Hindus said the mosque has been here for many years. Those who damaged the mosque are outsiders. A 5-year-old by the name of Jitendra Kumar said, “I was opposed to attacking the mosque. They came from outside. They were shouting 'Joy Sriram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Joy'. I appealed to them and said, "Even if they do not hurt the neighbors, they have been living with us for a long time." But the attackers did not listen to him, Jitendra Kumar said.
Recently, a video on social media was viral, but it was called 'Voyage'. Ramesh Solanki, a man from Mumbai, complained to police against Rana Ayub online. Rana, allegedly, is provoking an uproar by posting videos of two-year-old Bihar. This has happened in Delhi's Ashok Vihar in the media. But a police officer, Ashok Bihar, denied any such incident. Rana Ayub, a writer and journalist for 'Gujarat Files' in Gujarat's post-Godhra riots, was finally forced to delete the video posted on Twitter. But on Wednesday, representatives of the media reached Ashok Nagar in Delhi, confirming the attack on the mosque. Later on social media, Rana Ayub again uploaded the video of the attack.
