India / US:
The main opposition Congress has questioned the spending of large sums on US President Donald Trump's proposed visit to India.
On Saturday, Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi said, “The arrival of President Trump is spending Tk 1 million. But this money is being spent through a association. The members of the association do not know that they are members. What countrymen do not have the right to know how much money a ministry has given to that association? What is the government trying to hide behind the association? '
Donald Trump arrives in India on February 24 for a two-day visit to India. They are scheduled to visit Ahmedabad, Agra and New Delhi.
Congress wants to know who is the official officer of the Citizen Greetings Association? When was the company created? Where did they get the huge money to organize the event? The senior leader of the party and former Union Minister Anand Sharma alleged that the central and state governments have taken refuge in pseudonymity because of the government's expenditure as private. He alleged that the opposition MPs and MLAs in Gujarat were not invited to the event. Congressional speech, fancy congratulations are a good thing. But national interests should be given priority. What should be achieved in India, that aspect should be confirmed.
Congress leader Anand Sharma said, "The Indian government has demanded that all management work be done by the 'Citizen Greetings Association'. So is US President Donald Trump coming to India at the invitation of this association? When was that association formed, when was it registered? Where did this money come from? The reality is that all the money belongs to the Government of India and Gujarat. ”
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) chief barrister Asaduddin YC MP has criticized India's foreign policy, saying, "We are wrong to think of America as a friend. Tell us what your foreign policy is. Modi and Trump have embraced many times but nothing has been found. '
