For the United States, the UN Security Council is becoming ineffective: Iran



 Majid Takhte Ravanchi, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, said the UN Security Council was "weak and ineffective" because of the US government's continued support for Zionist Israel.  In particular, the Security Council has been ineffective in addressing Tel Aviv's expansionist policies.


 Majid Takhte Ravanchi said that for the last 70 years, the United States has been fully supporting the illegal policy of occupation and expansion, which has led Israel to dare to violate all the basic principles of international law.  Tel Aviv has repeatedly violated UN Charters and international commitments.


 The Iranian ambassador added that the United States had fully and consistently supported the Israeli government's atrocities by abusing its permanent membership in the UN Security Council.  This has made the UN Security Council weak and ineffective.


 Majid Takhte Ravanchi made the remarks at a virtual meeting on the Palestinian issue at the UN Security Council on Wednesday.  He said that with the encouragement and support of the United States, Zionist Israel has violated the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people and all forms of humanity and morality, including the violation of international law.
