The United Nations has called for an end to state racism in the United States
There has always been widespread violence and racial discrimination against blacks in American society. Although blacks struggled against this discrimination, especially when it came to fighting for their rights, nothing was done.
They continue to be victims of discrimination and violence by the police with the help of the US judiciary. This issue has made the UN. The United Nations has been rocked by the brutal killing of a black man named George Floyd by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25. The UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination has called on the US government to take immediate steps to address structural racism and racism in the police administration.
The committee said in a statement that the U.S. government and local and government officials should remove existing discriminatory measures in their judiciary and police departments. Especially those who have been victims of racism should take effective steps to implement their rights. U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday he is going to finalize an executive order that would encourage law enforcement agencies to adhere to "existing standards." Earlier, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet condemned racism in the United States as "structural".
Bachelet said the killing of unarmed blacks in America should be stopped and their demands accepted. Police violence against blacks must stop. Opponents of racism, whose structural racism is taking American society to the brink of destruction, must listen to their demands without stifling their voices. Through this call of the United Nations, the real nature of human rights claimants in American society has been exposed. Indeed, racial, educational, occupational, and social inequalities, as well as incidents of violence against blacks, are now commonplace in American society. In the past three centuries of American history, blacks have always been the target of slavery, widespread torture, murder, and violence. The fact that Floyd was killed on his knees with administrative help proves that inequality still exists. It remains to be seen how much the United States will respond to the UN call for an end to inequality.
